Salman Rushdie knighthood reactions

When British novelist Salman Rushdie received a knighthood from the Queen, it upset Muslims from Europe to the sub-continent and Asia.
Now Iran's spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamaenei has declared that the 1989 fatwa against Rushdie -- which caused him to go into hiding for over ten years -- still stands.
But not all Muslims are offended by Rushdie's knighthood; some are more offended by the reaction of Muslims.
Irshad Manji is a senior fellow with the European Foundation for Democracy and the author of The Trouble with Islam Today and creator of the new documentary, Faith Without Fear.
